| I have preferred to remain anonymous so
that who I am doesn't cloud my message, but many people have asked. I guess I can't blame
them. The opportunity to learn a little about me and my background will help others
determine how credible of a source I am. My name is Bryan
Davis. I am 26 years old and I currently live in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Arkansas
with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business
Administration in August of 1995.
I currently work for a client/server consultancy where I am working as a
software consultant on a Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) marketing system for a Fortune 15 oil
and gas corporation.
I am a huge Arkansas Razorback sports fan and I enjoy soccer and
snow skiing. I also spend way to much time messing around on the Internet.
I have been using the Internet since 1989. This is well before the
Internet became "cool". Mosaic was the only browser around and commercialization
of the Internet was strictly considered a no no. I spent many hours modeling digital
circuits on a Sun Sparc workstation that had a direct connection to the Internet. The
newsgroups and IRC are what initially sparked my interest and continued to keep me coming
back. The web was pretty boring back then because there wasn't that much to look at. My
how that has changed.
I supported myself in graduate school by working for a local bank
where I was responsible for the personal
computer operations. I enjoy troubleshooting and solving computer problems.
I started getting interested in building web pages when HTML
development tools started evolving from their infancy and WYSIWYG editors became
available. Microsoft Frontpage 97 is my weapon of choice. WYSIWYG editors prevent me from
having to waste my time learning the intricate details of HTML syntax. I prefer not to
push code if I don't have to. I took enough programming in college. Now I just have to
tweak it when needed.
Many people have wondered why I am am willing to spend so much time
and energy building and maintaining this site. I think that this is a good question and I
would like to answer it.
I do this primarily for three reasons:
- It is a skill that I can apply in my everyday work.
- It is entertaining.
- It gives me a opportunity to share some of my hardware technical
expertise to assist others. This is what I like the best.
Since you are reading my personal page, I now have the guilt free
opportunity to shove my personal preferences down your throat with this great big logo.

Go Hogs!
