Many of you have wondered what happened to AlternativeCPU.com.  In November of last year, I sold the AlternativeCPU.com domain to Powerleap.com.  However, as part of the agreement, I retained all rights to AlternativeCPU.com intellectual property.

All of my former content is now available at the Real World Technologies website.  Real World Technologies will serve as the only officially sanctioned AlternativeCPU.com mirror.

The last update to AlternativeCPU.com was made on November 25, 1998.  No further updates are planned and some of the aspects of the site are no longer functional.  For example, my survey script and certain links to external sites are dead.  However, much of the information is still valid and may be useful to many of you.

Please contact me at rbdavis@realworldtech.com if you have questions.  My former AlternativeCPU.com email addresses are no longer valid.   You can read more about why I decided to call it quits at AlternativeCPU.com below.

The fat lady is singing loudly at AlternativeCPU.com. I’ve hinted at it for a while, but after over 1,000,000 page requests I’ve decided to call it quits. Over two years of updates, CPU introductions, and emails have taken their toll. Many of you have noticed my lack of attention to AlternativeCPU.com over the last few months. What once was a lot of fun, now feels like work.

I’m not leaving the hardware website scene completely. I’m not willing to give up my soapbox. I’ve decided to move to a different IP address and join the cast and crew of Real World Technologies on a part time basis. I’ll be covering CPU related issues (including Intel) and posting updates on a monthly or bi-weekly basis.

I’ve worked with a lot of terrific people over the last two years. However, there are a couple that I would like to recognize publicly and extend a special thank you. I owe these individuals a tremendous amount.

I also want to thank those who supported my sponsors, sent feedback, and visited often.   Take care everyone, it's been fun.
