Good point, the benchmarks suck in many ways.

Admittedly I do not have the full overview, and I find it hard to track down benchmark details. Hence, I should have refrained from wide ranging assumptions. However, I did run Browsermark on my laptop with a Core2 T7200 (Merom at 2.0GHz with 4MB cache). Everything but a small subtest seemed single threaded, and the score was 261042, implying that Exynos 4 has 62% of it's performance. This is with laptop power characteristics and memory subsystem. The Medfield on Xolo scored almost 57% of the Exynos chip in this benchmark.

Well, I would not be surprised if Exynos 4 performance compares well to my current laptop. As Wilco points out, it may very well exceed Bobcat on most CPU loads. The GPU side of things seems to be improving fast too, but I really don't know how that will stack up.

I am thinking Android, but the ipad has already made quite a dent in the laptop market. Personally I would love to see Vivaldi catch on, but that is another discussion.
