That's certainly much better than x64, but for obvious
reasons it's not very good either, and MS won't be calling
it that externally. So it's really not very good either.

There really is no good reason not to just call
it x86-64. Anything else just tends to have obvious issues
that make it impractical. Either it's stupid political
issues with company names ("Intel 64"? Who the hell do
they think they are kidding?), or it's just idiotic and
clearly misleading (x64 - see the thread just here on why
that name sucks).

Nobody has ever come up with a cogent argument not to call
it x86-64. It's not like the x86 part isn't an important
part of the architecture!

So let's just agree to call it something that everybody
can agree on. And that means not playing company
politics in naming.
