Any you know this, how?
I've worked on a Java/C++ product. I worked on the Java side. The C++ side had a build time of four hours (compiler wasn't GCC ...). This absolutely sucked, and parallel compiling it wasn't going to help much.
I'd like to think that our project was just an outlier, but I really don't know how much of one.
Do you have *ANY* actual data for your claim that compile time is not a big problem? Or are you just assuming what you want to believe?
