What makes you think its easier for Nvidia to make a decent x86 CPU then Intel to make a x86 GPU? Experience with AMD suggests this won't be simple. The mindset of a GPU company and CPU company is clearly different.
I don't think the FTC deal says anything about what you said above happening either.
