It would surprise me very much. Approximately how long do you think it would take for the FSF to be all over that? We're not talking about a closed source project where you can easily hide copyright violations. It's all out there.
The other part of it is that clang and llvm are OOP C++ projects with substantial design differences from gcc related to design goals (see http://clang.llvm.org/comparison.html). gcc is plain C. Large scale theft is likely impossible because the guts of the two projects are just too different.
