Re the Analysis of SPEC results for Sandybridge. Shouldn't any core-level comparisons to Sandy Bridge be made with the Core i7 965, rather than the Core i7 980X? The per core results of 980X seem strangly low, I assume it might be to do with the less than perfect performance scaling from 4 - 6 cores (and thus 8 to 12 threads)
If you look at SpecINT_Rate and FP_Rate per core Core, the Nehalem is faster than a 6 core westmere, which we know is not the case in reality.
