You're right. Time to fix that. I meant that the 604e was the last serious attempt. The 7400 was never really competitive.

Duly noted. I think I might have been counting from announcement to announcement, or something odd.

Yeah, I think the real problem is that Motorola just couldn't keep up with Intel and AMD. IBM could, but didn't want to for a while.

That's a good theory as well, it's a shame I didn't think of that ahead of time.
