They could be ported but why the hell would you with the interface differences. It would make little sense at all unless you intend to create a new user experience with a new inteface in which case I dont consider that the same application (Refuse to use the App marketing term) at all.
With OSX gaining touch capability maybe it might make sense for some of the iOS application to port over but the reverse? Who the heck is going to want a touch based Photoshop, etc. Add a mouse and keyboard to iOS then maybe a iOS netbook would make sense.
Not sure what benefit the majority of killer OSX applications would benefit from a ARM port. Actually the reverse is likely true and they would suffer. Its not luck that Apples Mac OSX fortunes rose when they switched to x86 and gained the ability to run Win Legacy (New name not to be confused with Win ARM :P). Why give up that advantage or muddy your current clean product line?
If Apple wants to do a netbook design I could see an iOS based one with added mouse support. That of course assumes Apple could reduce cost from doing such a system. I dont know it just doesnt make sense to me on why they would want to do the Mac OSX ARM thing. I understand why MS does but not really why Apple would want to do it.
