Helium would make a lousy coolant (except in liquid form, but that's a whole different* kettle of sea monkeys!).

The Cray-2, for example, put the circuitry in a tank of non-conductive fluorocarbon (one of 3M's Fluorinert line, specifically) for cooling.


*You'd probably be looking at Josephson Junctions at that point.
