How much raw computer resources?

Does it? I suppose I ought to try it myself with machine language, but the documentation claim that AVX doesn't improve integer operations. For example, this guide from Intel claims that 256-bit AVX can only operate on packed 32-bit or 64-bit floats, but otherwise, AVX operates on 128-bit fields for integer stuff:

This would likewise match the description of the Sandy Bridge architecture, which overloads the integer SIMD data paths in order to expand out to 256 bits for floats.
