It doesn't. That's AVX2.

AVX2 is targeted for Haswell, not for Sandy Bridge. It will support all sorts of integer formats, which is particularly important, but also difficult. e.g. working with bytes is a real pain in terms of wiring.

As it stands already, SSE is quite impressive for 16-bit and 8-bit data types. But for real DSP work, you'll want Haswell in 2013.

For bit coin mining, you should just send money to RWT directly, since it's a giant scam. At least that way, it is guaranteed to go to a good cause : )
