I have nothing against links to other websites, as long as the purpose is to enlighten and add information to the discussion.

You are discussing a specific point and using a link as evidence, which is fine.

I chided Brett for gratuitously linking sites in an unrelated fashion. Or for doing so without really adding to the conversation and merely interjecting a random, unconnected and assortment of thoughts and links.
