It depends on what you use your laptop for. There are many kinds of laptops for many kinds of use. Personally, I buy DTR laptops as my only computers, so writes would be the same importance as on a desktop. You might do something different. Your mileage may vary.

Actually, a lot of people don't like the small display and keyboard. It's only acceptable if portability is really important to you.
