Noone in the financial industry will ever use a GPU for algorithmic trading. Why?
Latency on GPU compute sucks.
Sure you get a lot of throughput, but that is not what you generally need. Its lowest latency that counts, and DSP resources in a FPGA are more than adequate with far better latency characteristics compared to a GPU.

Two points here:
1. There are checks in the process to ensure nothing stupid gets done in an automated way. This is mandatory and part of the risk management.
2. the 6 May 'Flash Crash' was due to a trader not an algorithm.

Noone in the financial industry will ever use a GPU for algorithmic trading. Why?
