Cuda, I don't want to get in to, but there are problems that make the NV methodology unacceptable to any SEC regulated entity, or at least that is what I was told. It is a fundamental issue with how things are done, but I can't be more specific.
MIC was picked up because of programming ease. It is not 100% the speed of a GPU, but the ease in which they could extract a large %age of the performance was the selling point.
FWIW, they haven't looked at OpenCL yet, but they will for the next round. I would guess that it won't be there for two generations yet.
