"SEO optimization"?

The perceived redundancy in "SEO optimization" bothers me a bit. Such might be a typical expression, like NIC card or PIN number (and such can be convenient and more clear than a "strictly correct" expression). It is also possible that the text was referring to optimization of the SEO process (e.g., if the software makes search engine optimization easier, it could be said to provide SEO optimization).

I present this comment publicly in part to learn what others think about such redundancy (and perhaps in part to appear publicly as a clever and knowledgeable person--while actually appearing as petty person who complains about trivialities :-).
