Tilera's currently shipping 40nm 36-core processor (Gx36) contains 36 3-wide 64-bit RISC integer cores. *Each core* has a 2-way 32KB L1i, 2-way 32KB L1d, and 8-way 256KB L2 with ECC. There are two 64b on-die DDR3 controllers, 16 lanes of XAUI, 12 lanes of Gen2 PCIe, and packet, crypto and compression accelerators.

Other than the use of the word "tile", how exactly is this like tiling a 200mm^2 die with nothing but FMACs and clock and power distribution?
