The interesting thing there is that NEC *does* appear to sell 64-socket SD2's, or at least that's what machine translation of http://www.nec.co.jp/products/nx7700i/product/7320h256/index.html seems to indicate. I wonder if HP just seems insufficient demand for 64s systems in the US to bother selling it.
