I just saw it tonight, and I have to agree at least partially - the clarity did make some things far too noticeable (the dwarves masks/makeup in particular). But I don't think that's a knock on the higher resolution/framerate format per se, rather that a filmmaker is going to have to work harder to hide the slop that the more limited conventional media hides automatically.

I also had a few issues with depth of field, but again, DOF is completely under control of the filmmaker, but again, the higher resolution will require more careful attention, plus, as lack of resolution overlaps the effects produced by lack of focus, a more "focused" sense of focus may be necessary to keep our eyes in the right part of the frame, which may entail deliberate blurring of the frame outside that area.

And I agree that some of the lighting was odd - the riddle game particularly so, but again, that seemed more a "printing" problem than anything to do with the filming.

But I did enjoy the film.
