Still, it's basically same technology as the old. Softening too sharp resolution or tuning down "too accurate" colors is a small matter in post processing. HFR applies to everything (not so much to nearly static scenes) and seems to be noticed by pretty much anyone, even if not everyone can tell what's going on.

There's nothing mystical about people not liking big changes, it's a well known fact and applies just as well to critics and journalists as it does to other people. Unless you have something actively against status quo (like I do with 24 fps movies) your first reaction is likely to be negative.

Well, for Hobbit (or Lord of the Rings or, for example, 300, just to name few pretty extreme examples), accurate color reproduction obviously wasn't the goal.
