In 2003 I used a smartphone with touchscreen, not that it was called a smartphone then.

Now color and that are good examples but 3D? How many times have the film industry tried to make 3D the standard without success? 3 times right (not counting the current generation)?
"3D" is, and will continue to be, a gimmick that'll pop up from time to time until real 3D displays are available.
