Point being most applications rarely use more than two threads, Nintendo and Sony PS Vita certainly had other options than 4 core... Premium games are tending towards 4 threads being optimum for performance per watt, but not lower budget titles common on phones/tablets. Shield has the same advantage that Vita and Wii U have, more tactile controller suitable for more game types than just motion and touch...

Video editing was done on systems far less powerful than any modern smart phones or tablets worth their salt. Also most laptops have inferior cameras to that of high end tablets and smart phones, due largely to it being inconvenient to aim a laptop. So frequent short videos being edited on the same device as footage taken, as for YouTube uploads etc., video editing on phablet size devices is meaningfully useful...
