It's not 1980 and it is my belief that the Renesas RX is a new design.
Renesas is a consolidation of several companies, each with their own 8bit and 16bit designs.
As a new design it flies in the face of John Mashey and the RISC crowd.
If Renesas RX is actually a 30 year old design then yes I made a mistake.
