The Doug Schmidt who massively pushed CORBA, and especially real-time CORBA. Who thinks C++ is a really good idea.
Every time we hear of a project stuck with ACE (the library underlying his real-time CORBA,
which tries to abstract away the operating system, and which popularized double checked
locking), we just laugh.
