It certainly is very confusing though calling it the ThunderX2t99. That looks like ThunderX2 to me. I don't believe it is the ThunderX2 Cavium have been talking about even recently at CES. I wonder how long it would take to integrate into the current ThunderX2 instead of the current core, or are they thinking of selling the Broadcom chip design unchanged? I'd probably go for just taking the core over so it is a good upgrade from the ThunderX but that would delay the release. Hmm difficult. Personally I tend towards reducing variants and options so as to reduce support costs. I hate support costs.
