My surprise and amazement looking at it from point of view of a complete outsider, is that we've been nothing for the last several years, but creating fuel. We've been busy laying down this layer warm, flammable, dry, crisp vegetation all over the place. Smart phone devices, infrastructure and systems. Whilst it may be reassuring to know, that we haven't experienced anything like a forest fire yet, I'm still reminded of stories such as the Granite Mountain hotshots.
What happens when the equivalent of a Mirai botnet comes raging over the brow of the next hillside. It's making progress towards the ranch house? And it hits people squarely between the eyes - we haven't even given these guys shovels? Who will the finger point at then? Honestly.
