For the open market, Apple server chips could not be used, because Apple is unwilling to provide adequate documentation for any of its products and I do not believe that they will change this policy any time soon.

Their internal consumption is probably not large enough to justify the expenses for the the development of a server chip.


Otherwise, I agree that a derivative of A12 would be very competitive with the existing offers, even if they would still need to develop or license some good internal interconnection appropriate for many cores.
