Why should a server design have to incorporate DIMMs? Why not an on package HBM style solution without DRAM, available in multiple sized tiers for better compute density on the board and rack level? That said, I agree w/ another poster that insufficient documentation and openness would preclude this possibility from getting industry traction.

There's also no evidence that Apple has the expertise to do a server grade un-core for either single much less multiple sockets multiple yet. I do look forward to seeing this part in a Macbook though, hopefully something capable of easily booting Linux or Windows-on-ARM even.
