I do not know if you are familiar with this tool, but I would boot the laptop from an USB stick with Linux and I would run turbostat simultaneously with some benchmarks.


With that you could see the frequency of each core as a function of time and also the temperature and power consumption.


I have not verified if Ice Lake has any changes in the MSRs and performance counters used by turbostat and if turbostat was updated for it, but with previous CPUs that was usually done before launch and since Intel has already provided already a lot of patches for Tiger Lake, one year in advance, I expect that turbostat should already work with Ice Lake.


If you want to try this and want to skip reading the man page, I can provide a suitable command line for turbostat.
