Single Thread performance is alive

So AMD just released a part (ThreadRipper 3960x) that with the same number of cores gives 30-50% performance gains against its predecessor from a new process and somewhat improved micro architecture.

Even though it's just a single data point, I think that shows that all the grandiose statements about "Single Thread performance is dead" are very premature.
