  • BPU: L1 BTB size increase from 512 to 1024 entries, L2 BTB decreases from 7K to 6.5K entries. Basically moving 512 entries from L2 to L1 BTB

  • BPU: Indirect target array size increase from 1024 to 1536 entries

  • BPU: vague 'no bubble on most predictions' - is L1 BTB zero bubble now?

  • Fetch: vague 'improved prefetching', faster switch between decode/op cache, vague 'faster sequencing of op cache fetches'

  • ooo: ROB size increased, 224 to 256 entries, int rf 180 to 192 entries,

  • ooo: 24 entry scheduling queues (3x for ALU+AGU, 1 for ALU+Branch)

  • Integer: new dedicated branch port

  • FP: F2I moved to separate pipes, FStore moved off FAdd port too, FMA latency matches skylake's at 4c

  • LD/ST: Still 3 AGUs, but all three can do loads. L1D can do 3 loads/c, 2 stores/c to match. But this only applies to integer loads. Throughput is still 2 loads + 1 store for 256-bit.

  • LD/ST: store queue has 64 entries, up from 48. 'Retired store buffer' now shown on slides.

  • LD/ST: DTLB size stays the same but 6 page table walkers (!) instead of 2

  • LD/ST: Better REP MOVS (faster copying for short strings)

  • LD/ST: 64 outstanding L2 misses per core (compared to 50 on Zen 1), 24 outstanding L3 misses per core (or L3 slice?) same as Zen 1

  • L3 Cache: 46 cycle avg latency, up from 39
