True, they have good test descriptions. But other reviewers also publish specifics about their tests.

That's more an issue of 'I wish reviewers would include branch prediction figures and other uarch counters', than anything about spec's suite. I feel the same way. Reviewers should learn to use performance counters, especially when they make claims about xyz uarch feature impacting perf.
I suppose I can start. Cinebench R20 ST:
3950X - 98.2% branch prediction accuracy
i7-8750H - 97.4%
i7-4770 - 97.4%
