The thing is, transactional memory looks like a good thing, because it's so easy to create benchmarks where it really does very very well.
And who knows. Maybe ARM can succeed where Intel and IBM did not, and they can succeed despite all my arguments, and all the history against them.
I am just not very optimistic.
