The 3A4000/3C4000 chips seem to be fairly robust, but from what I've seen the boards that have been released have a lot of problems. But it's hard to get Loongson kit shipped out to the US or Europe.
For example, Loongson offered to send kit to Alpine, but as soon as they found out it was going to Europe, they disappeared.
