The interconnect between the two M1 max dies that make up the M1 ultra is claimed to be 2.5TB/second -- that's alot of bandwidth, but what about latency? They also let slip that it is 10,000 lanes wide. Simple math leads me to believe that it is running at 2 Ghz.
It will be interesting to see how many cycles of latency this is going to add to accesses that go across this interconnect. Anyone care to speculate -- or even better, try it out on an M1 ultra to see?
Cheers,
Ian.
