OK, I have looked now at Mac Studio and I agree that having 4 Thunderbolt ports is much more than twice more valuable than having only 2 ports, because with 2 ports it is very frequent to need more ports than there are available, while 4 ports should cover many use cases.
Compared to an Intel NUC or an ASRock NUC Box, the M1 Max Mac Studio has 2 extra Thunderbolt ports and one 10 Gb/s Ethernet instead of one or two 2.5 Gb/s Ethernet ports, but the NUCs are more than 2 times cheaper and also small enough to be easily carried in a backpack or briefcase, which, together with the much greater control of the owner over the computer, makes them a better choice, in my opinion.
