Cooling solutions

The problem, as I undestand it to be, is that
the cost, weight and size of the cooling
system for the processor is likely to become
quite significant. As you point out we've
gone from nothing, through heatsinks, then
with fans added, to today's noisy behemoths.

It's quite possible that at some point in
time, not too distant, that packaging,
power supply and cooling may have a
higher cost than the silicon
itself, even in high end desktops.
