Hey Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I have a new article online, which should be fairly interesting, especially to developers.

One of the tools which I have been playing with for a while is Intel's VTune profiler (I have no AMD systems, so I cannot use Code Analyst).

Anyway, I wrote up a brief article that discusses some of the capabilities of VTune, and shows examples:

http://realworldtech.com/page.cfm?ArticleID=RWT080606230159

Interestingly enough, I found in my sampling of Oblvion, that the CPI for a Nocona system (3.6GHz 1MB L2 Dual Xeon system) was ~2.8. Of course, that was only for a 160 second sample...

Anyway, if you're interested in learning more about performance profilers, take a look!

Regards,

David
