I hope everyone had a great weekend. As an early holiday present, I have just wrapped up my latest efforts: An Introduction to Multiprocessor Systems.

This article presents the various aspects of designing shared memory systems, including memory hierarchy, coherency protocols, and scalability.

While this work is interesting in and of itself, it actually serves as a preview of later topics. Understanding this material is a prerequisite to a much more fascinating piece that I am currently working on.

The images on pages 4 and 5 use animated GIFs. I believe that pretty much every browser supports these, certainly the latest version of Fire Fox does. If you are not seeing any animation in the images, then please contact me.
