That's why these are predictions, not facts. I suspect that Intel will have a hard time over-coming the inherent architectural limitations they face, even when using the FSB as a point to point interconnect.

Well, my analysis did not include Seaburg and Harpertown - they should be out a little later, and it's hard to estimate what the difference will be. One of the things that AMD does have to worry about is that Intel will have a new platform by the end of the year, and while the improvement is not as big as K8-->Barcelona or Pentium M-->Merom, it'll improve in the key areas where Intel is short (interconnect).

I'm not sure that's what I said. I claimed it was clear that AMD would own HPC and probably 4S servers. For 2S commercial workloads it's a toss up - AMD will win some, and they will probably lose some.

That's not damning for AMD, it's just not as great as the lead of Opteron relative to Prescott.
