Nehalem should be a clean sheet architecture, not derived from Core 2.
Core 2, ie, Conroe, is the current of a series of designs from Israel, starting with Pentium M - Banias, Core - Yonah,
Nehalem, should be an Oregon design, from the group that did Willamette and Prescot, probably not having the super deep pipeline of Prescot, but the HT feature maybe retained
