Why make reader's life harder?
Why not simply:



http://www.samsung.com/global/system/business/semiconductor/product/2007/6/11/NORFlash/64Mbit/K8S6415ETB/ds_K8S6415ExB_rev12.pdf

Unlike the former, you can read the later variant online or save it wherever you want and read later. And you don't have to enable browser scripting for doing so.

Unfortunately, Samsung is not alone in this practice. Freescale is doing very similar thing although luckily not for PDFs so it hurts less. I saw it on site of other silicon vendors too.

Why are they doing it?
I don't think that it's a pure unadulterated stupidity. There should be something else that I don't see.
