While I am not the Anon in question - a few things to consider.

1 - both the anon you refer to, AND Linus, made some rather childish, foolish, and unrequired comments.

2 - Linus, like most people who actually get out there and DO things, gets things wrong with some regularity - he also has a history of taking some time to change his mind, and throwing a bit of bile during that time. He does eventually bat with a pretty good average.

3 - I think the jury is well and truly still out on this one - both parties have avoided some of the scenarios / questions posed by the other, both have made some good points, both have raise some strawmen..

4 - Linus doesnt need you to cover his back or lick his arse, he is quite capable of standing his own ground.

5 - Why does anon have to PROVE that xattrs are so good? because Linus doesnt like them? He doesnt like C++ either (thats a bit of a generalisation..). Some people here have come up with some valid uses that are no more broken that long file names, or symbolic links - both things that can be 'lost' in the same was as xattrs can be through backups, transfers, etc - yet Linus doesnt seem to hate on those...

I would personally feel that your post is worse than either of the two others - they are both debating with some vigour their opinion on an issue in a public forum.

You simple seem to want to disallow debate.
