Sure, Atom is cheap. At a system level it wasn't enough
to swing the deal, though. In this case, you really do
get what you pay for.
The ULV chips used to be really expensive. I've
always liked thin-and-lights, and I hated buying laptops
because all the good ones were totally overpriced. The
CULV chips changed that.
No, they're not $30 like Atom. But they are in the sub-100
range now.

Sure. And I hope you bought a lot of SGI stock in the 90's
on your astute insight that the money is in specialty
graphics.
Get a clue. It's a shrinking market. Even gamers are going
for the mid-range cards, because they are plenty good
enough. And anybody but gamers are going for the integrated
stuff.
