After his recent conversion to the VLIW cause a few months ago, Thomas Sohmers brings us some new insights.

- Shockingly, he's had to look beyond supercomputing for additional interest.
- He claims to have cracked all the problems of VLIW...
- ... using something that sounds specifically like PGO.
- ARMv8 "sucks" due to being "bloated" and being used in out-of-order cores - which are "a very bad thing if you have real ILP and DLP." Also, it has "abysmal" floating-point performance.
- Power will be dead in five years.
- PGO also fixes scratchpads. Caches suck!!!!!!!!!
Sigh.
